Why do we need all this detail?

Illustrated Character Design is a detailed process. In order to get you the best art work we can, and to get you the art work that resembles your characters as best as possible we need answers to all of these questions. Please understand that if you do not provide us with proficient information, we may not be able to provide you with the art work that you are looking for. How many characters do you need? And are they being drawn together or separately?

If you want them drawn together, do you want a background? If so, please describe in detail and attach any photos at the end of this brief for inspiration.

For your first character, please list the following: eye color, hair color, height, body type, dress code, attitude, facial expression you desire. Please attach as many photos as possible at the end of this design brief for inspiration.

Please understand, the more information and pictures that you attach, the better your character depiction and more on-point your illustrations will be. Extra charges will apply for new mockups based on new or additional information not included here.

For your second character, please list the following: eye color, hair color, height, body type, dress code, attitude, facial expression you desire. Please attach as many photos as possible at the end of this design brief for inspiration.

Please describe the setting or emotions of your book and emotions of your book and emotion between your characters. (i.e. emotional, funny, sexual tension, hate, etc.)

Are there any other notes that you would like or need to mention regarding your characters? Please attach reference photos to the end of this brief if needed.

Do you have any deadlines we need to keep in mind moving forward?

Please keep in mind we cannot guarantee anything and that the return of projects is based on your booking date, not your release/reveal date.

Please provide a minimum of 3 photos for each character and a minimum of 3 photos for each location or background. In the case that there are less than 3 photos for each illustration project, an extra fee will be assessed for any extra mockups needed for changes.

Illustrations have a 14- to 30-day timeline. Please understand that all of our illustrations are custom drawn and take time. We cannot rush this process. If you are under a time constraint, please notify us promptly at kristin@kbbarrettdesigns.com so that we can try our best to accommodate your timeline needs.
